Get Cheese - Where to Find Great Cheese!

Much to our surprise many of our local restaurants feature cheese plates both as a dessert, as well as an accompaniment to the meal. With more diverse cheese selections available, you can find a wide selection in your local market or at specialty stores such as Formaggio's Kitchen. This little store is filled with some of the finest artisanal cheeses around.

More and more restaurants now offer selections of fresh American and European cheeses. You can find familiar varieties, such as goat cheese, Munster, or triple-cream Bries, as well as more exotic cheeses such as Manchego, Dry Jack, and Cabrales on their menu items. If you need to brush up on the varieties that are available or that might suit your palate, you can find descriptions of most of the cheeses at www.cheese.com.

UpStairs on the Square, Cambridge An extensive cheese platter is offered every evening featuring a variety of Artisanal French, Italian and American cheeses.
The Fireplace, Brookline New England Cheese Plate: Three artisan cheeses all from the New England area served with sourdough toasts & tasty colorful garnishes.
Julien Restaurant, Boston The Cheese Cart offers European and French cheeses, as well as many local cheeses from farms in Massachusetts, Vermont and New York.
Vinalia, Boston Cheeses are served a la carte in any combination. Manchego, Drunken Goat, and Keens are just a few of the chesses on offer. Wine pairings are often suggested.
33 Restaurant & Lounge, Boston The selection of cheeses change on a regular basis. Brebis De Collines, Hillman Farms Goat Cheese, Fourme d' Ambert and Gariotin are currently on the menu.

The Cheese Plate features 3 different cheeses and is served with salted and candied whole pecans, vine-dried raisins and fresh strawberries and a good French baguette. Current cheese selection includes St Maure de Tourainne, Manchego and Stilton.
Bon Caldo, Norwood Recently introduced the cheese plate features imported Italian cheeses (Pecorino Toscano, Montasio, Taleggio, Fiore Sardo), seasonal fruit, honey and fresh Tuscan crostini.

Tryst, Arlington   The Artisan Cheese plate includes such cheeses as Fourme 'd Ambert and Morbier from France.
Flora, Arlington   The Cheese Plate changes monthly and selections include three types of cheeses made from different milks and various styles.
Maxwells 148, Natick   The specialty cheese plate is currently offered with a glass of 1979 Niebaum-Coppola 'Rubicon'. The featured cheeses include Blue Moncenisio, Piave Vecchio, Brescianelle Stagianata and Delice de Bourgogne.
Ten Tables, Jamaica Plain   The artisanal cheese plate usually changes nightly and consist of a goat and cow's cheese. Sauterne or vin santo chianti dessert wine is offen to paired with the cheese.
Garden of Eden, Boston   They offer many fine cheeses come from local farmers and abroad, such Maple Gouda and a Raw Milk Brie.
Rialto, Cambridge   The specialty cheese plate includes such cheeses as Bartlett Blue, Chabis-Feuille and Brebis au Espelette with a 2000 Cypres de Climens as the paired wine.
The Red Pheasant, Dennis   The Cheese Plate offers three cheeses; one soft, one hard and one blue-veigned. They are usually accompanied by fresh blueberries or blackberries, raspberries, grapes or apple slices and freshly baked French style bagette slices.
Toppers at the Wauwinet, Nantucket
  The Artisian Cheese Selection is served with Champagne grapes and Walnut Raisin toast points and includes such cheeses as Cypress Grove Chèvre, Great Hill Blue and Old Chatham Sheepherding Co.

  The dessert cheese plate includes 3 different cheeses, sometimes from the same country or same milk, along with whole toasted almonds and apricot milk jam.
Carpenter & Main, Norwich, VT   The cheese course menu is offered as an appetizer or snack in the bar or as a dessert course. The cheeses change with the season. Currently on the menu you will find Trillium, Thistle Hill Tarentaise and Bayley Hazen Blue.
Lucia Italian Restaurant, Newport, RI   The "Piatto di Formaggi Mista" is a gourmet aged cheese platter, with Fontina, Goat cheese and Provolone, Grapes, Italian Prosciutto di Parma, Date and Almond cake, and Cherry Peppers filled with sharp Provolone and Ham.
Palace Kitchen, Seattle, WA   Just for comparison - on the other coast - their Cheese Plate includes such cheeses as Steinbock Chevre, Camellia, Yellow Buck Camembert and Myrtlewood just to name a few.
